The College has got recognition as a University Study Centre of Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, Gauhati University (PGCS) and Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University of Assam. These all are full-fledged Government Universities and Recognized by UGC, AIU, DEC, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. The College is offering BBA, BCA, BSc.IT, Bachelor of Mass Comm., MBA, MCA, MScIT, PGDCA, PGDBM, PGDJMC, and also some other Diploma courses under these three Universities. Apart from University Courses GEA National College also offers some Diploma and Certificate courses under it's own banner.

 

 

Gauhati University - A Brief Profile...

 

Gauhati University is the first University in North East India, had established by an Act of the Assam Legislative Assembly (Assam Act. XVI of 1947), in the year 1948. The first court meeting of the University was held on 26th January 1948 at Sudmerson Hall of Cotton College, Guwahati, and it shifted to its present campus at Jalukbari, 10 KM from Borjhar Airport and 10 KM from Guwahati Railway Station. Gauhati University is a full-fledged government university and fully recognized by UGC. The University is also awarded the grade of Four Star (****) by the apex council of NAAC.

Punjab Technical University - A Brief Profile

 

Punjab Technical University (PTU) was established by an act of Punjab State Legislature on 16 th Jan 1997, to promote Technical, Management & Pharmaceutical education at the Degree level and above. The University is promoting a number of courses in different streams in regular as well as distance education programmes. Now the university, under its administration, has 39 Engineering colleges, 56 Management colleges, 17 Pharmacy colleges, 4 B.Sc MLT colleges and 1 Hotel Management & Catering Technology College, and 500+ Learning centers under distance education programme. In order to provide opportunity to the faculty to improve their qualification and to introduce research activities, the University has established nine regional centers at various locations in Punjab and have started M.Tech courses and also agreed to provide academic research input to these centers. University also forms the bridge between the students and the industry and helping the students in job placements. Also University helps the industry in R&D through its various programmes under Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Punjab Technical University has set up more than 500 Learning Centers in all the regions of Punjab and across the nation, which are conducting the diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses in IT, Fashion & Beauty Technologies, Paramedical & Applied Technologies, Hotel Management & Tourism and Media Technologies. The University has a mission to provide excellent education to the PTU students and make the affiliated Learning Centers as center of excellence. Now the distance education programme is being revamped and a lot of progressive moves to modernize the mode of teaching are being taken by the University. Interim Council of distance education has been constituted, which gives guidelines for the improvement of distance program are being undertaken. For all the courses, the new syllabus pattern is implemented to meet the requirements of current emerging field.

Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University - A Brief Profile

Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University is established under the provision of the Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University, Act’ 05 enacted by the Govt. of Assam & published in the Assam Gazette (extraordinary) dt 29/9/05.

The University has been recognised and academic programmes approved by the Distance Education Council (DEC), Govt. of India vide letter no. DEC/Misei/07/5957 dated 03-10-07.

The jurisdiction of the University covers the whole of the State of Assam and beyond. The motto of the University is ‘Education Beyond Barriers’ of age, academic background and geographical boundaries.
