President's
message
As
you know, about 70 percent of Indians live in villages. It is estimated
that a rural population of 700 million people lives in
6 lakhs villages.
Most Universities or Colleges are in cities or towns, and it is often not
possible for students to travel to cities or towns to study.”
“The Punjab Technical University has set a target of improving the access,
reach and quality of technical education in the State of Punjab. I am sure
that the University will continue the initiative to provide knowledge
skills to the disadvantaged sections of the society.....”
His excellency
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
Former President of India
Prime Minister's
message
..
I am glad to know that Punjab Technical University has grown over the last
few years to venture into new knowledge arenas of relevance.
Universities today have the responsibility to bridge the gulf between the
demands of technology driven competitive markets and availability of
skilled young job seekers. They need to do so by incorporating the latest
in their curricula and pedagogical techniques. I hope that Punjab
Technical University is moving in this direction.
I convey my best wishes to the students and teaching faculty for success
in their endeavours.
With regards,
Dr Manmohan
Singh
Hon’ble Prime Minister of India
